marriage-registration

Tapas asked 8 years ago

Hi, a very helpful information posted would like to know more details. I have completed a year of my marriage, it was arrange one & we both are hindu\\\’s of the same caste. We want to register our marriage and obtain marriage certificate. Under which act we should get It registered ? HMA or SMA ? Would there be any problem or legal issues later If we register it under SMA ? i have already filled the details Under Section 16 Of Special Marriage Act 1954 online as i didnt had proper clue about it. Under SMA, what would be the date of marriage reflecting on the certificate (Sign date or Actual Marriage date) ?  Or should we use the MCGM portal for registering our marriage.

Hi Tapas,
If you already married than you no need to apply for Marriage Registrar. For Marriage Certificate you need to apply at nearest Municipal Corporation Commissioner and apply for Marriage Certificate.
Marriage Certificate and Marriage Registration both are different, so, don’t confuse.
Thank you,
